Set and Lighting DesignThe screen and lighting design were created by Peter Mumford. The screen changes colour during the dancework and in the bottom right corner you can see a faint outline of the number 32. The colours on the screen change the mood and dynamic of the work on the stage and complement the choreography. Peter Mumford has also collaborated on a number of productions with Page, including 32 Cryptograms, Cinderella, Cheating, Lying, Stealing, The Sleeping Beauty and The Nutcracker.
About the designerJon Morrell is a set and costume designer who has worked extensively in theatre, opera and dance. He has worked extensively with Ashley Page on many productions including This House Will Burn, Sawdust and Tinsel, When we Stop Talking, Two-part Intervention and Room of Cooks for the Royal Ballet; Touch Your Coolness to my Fevered Brow for Dutch National Ballet, and Nightswimming into day and 32 Cryptograms for Scottish Ballet. A trademark of Page’s work is the long-term creative collaborations with other artists who facilitate his ideas and develop designs around the themes of the choreography, such as his collaborations with Antony McDonald spectacular Christmas ballets Cinderella, The Nutcracker and The Sleeping Beauty.
